Four boards, one rule
From 3×3 up to 6×6. The line you need grows with the board — four to win on 4×4 and 5×5, five on 6×6. Keep it at three and the player who moves first simply wins.
Classic tic tac toe, sharpened into something you will actually lose to.
No account. No network. No ads.

On 3×3 it searches the game to the end: it cannot be beaten, only drawn. On larger boards it prunes and evaluates instead — then pauses a moment, the way someone actually deciding would.
Take X and open the game, or take O and answer it. Sound, haptics and animation each sit on their own switch, so the game feels the way you want it to.
A dark board that stays out of the way, and two marks that never get confused for one another.
